Size Guide

Every Vandami piece lists its size and dimensions as worn. This page explains what those numbers mean and how to measure against them.

You need a soft measuring tape, or a piece of thread and a ruler.

Neckpieces

Measure around your neck where you want the piece to sit, then add a little for comfort. Our neckpiece lengths are given as the chain or haar length, with the extender listed separately.

Layering

Leave at least 2 inches between pieces, or they tangle and read as one crowded mass.

Earrings

Earrings are listed by drop (top of the earring to the lowest point) and width at the widest point.

Under 1 in	Studs. Everyday, works under a dupatta
1-2 in	Small jhumkas, chandbalis. Festive but wearable all day
2-3 in	Statement. The piece people notice
Over 3 in	Bridal scale. Glorious, and heavy. Check the gross weight.

Where a piece lists its gross weight, use it as a guide: heavier earrings are worth trying for a few hours before you commit to a long event.

Bangles and kadas

Bangles are the one thing you cannot judge by eye.

Press your thumb to your little finger, as if slipping a bangle on. Measure around the widest part of that shape. That circumference gives your size:

Between two sizes, go up. A bangle that will not pass the knuckle cannot be worn at all.

Rings

Wrap thread around the base of the finger, mark where it meets, measure the length flat.

Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest. Cold hands measure small.

Maang tikka and matha patti

Tikka chains are listed by chain length. Most are adjustable, so check the piece. Measure from your hairline parting to where you want the pendant to fall.

Anklets

Measure around the ankle bone and add half an inch.
